Makes a perfect holiday gift for the aspiring bread baker!
"The Secret of Sourdough" is designed for the beginner with limited bread baking experience. We'll explore a bit of the science behind the infamous sourdough starter (bacteria and wild yeast!), and learn how to mix and shape a naturally-leavened dough or two. We'll finish up by baking your loaves in Journeyman's new professional bread oven. Class includes a sourdough pizza lunch made by students during the class.
"The Secret of Sourdough" will be the first baking class to be held in our new bakery at 638 Central Avenue in Peekskill (formerly Zeph's Restaurant). This is sure to be a unique event and is likely to sell out fast.

This is a hands-on class led by Michael Sellers, owner of Journeyman Bakery and voted "Best New Bread Bakery" by Westchester Magazine in 2017. Students are required to stand for up to 60 minutes at a time, but stools also available. Aprons and caps are provided.
