The Baker

Michael Sellers discovered his passion for artisanal bread baking after a long career in health care communications. A resident of Peekskill for the past 12 years, Michael’s love for bread is matched only by his desire to discover new ways to foster community through the act of baking.

Michael has studied bread baking with Jeffrey Hamelman, former Director of the King Arthur Flour Bakery in Norwich, VT; Tim Healea of Little T Baker in Portland, Oregon; Ciril Hitz, bread and pastry instructor at Johnson & Wales; and farm-to-table chef Ian Knauer, founder of The Farm Cooking School in Titusville, NJ.

Michael was named "Best New Bread Baker" by Westchester Magazine in 2017. He teaches bread baking classes several times a year in Peekskill, and occasionally at The Farm Cooking School in Titusville, NJ.
