Our ode to a classic Southern dip, but on a pizza!
Author:Karl Wagner
Ingredients
1 order Journeyman Pizza Dough
1/2 cup Eleanor's Best™ Hot Pepper Jam
1 8-ounce Package Cream Cheese
2 tablespoons Milk or Half & Half
1 Jalapeño, deseed and minced (optional)
1 scallion, white and green thinly sliced
1/4 cup cilantro or parsley, roughly chopped
Directions
Set baking stone on middle rack and preheat oven to 500ºF. Prep pizza dough, either two rounds or one tray, as discussed here.
Place dough, un-topped, onto pizza stone and bake until just starting to brown (4-6 minutes).
While pizza bakes, whisk together cream cheese and milk until smooth.
When the dough is browned, remove from oven and spread evenly with cream cheese mixture. Dollop with pepper jelly and use a spatula to spread evenly over all. Return pizza to oven for 2 minutes to warm cream cheese.
Once ready, sprinkle with the minced jalapeño (if using), scallion, and cilantro or parsley. Slice and serve.
